Important: What to Do If Windows Warns You About These Downloads

These tools are not yet digitally signed (a code-signing certificate costs ~$250/year — we plan to add this soon). Because of this, both your browser and Windows may show warnings. This is expected behaviour for any unsigned software from an independent publisher, and does not mean the files are dangerous. Here's exactly what to do at each step:

Step 1 — Chrome Download Warning

Chrome may show: "[filename].exe is not commonly downloaded" with a warning icon.

1
Click the arrow › or chevron next to the warning in the Chrome download bar
2
Select "Keep" or "Keep anyway" from the menu that appears
3
The file will finish downloading normally
Step 2 — Windows "Blocked File" Warning (if it appears)

Windows may block the file before you can run it. To check and unblock:

1
Right-click the downloaded .exe file and select "Properties"
2
At the bottom of the General tab, look for a "Security" section with an "Unblock" checkbox
3
Check "Unblock", then click OK — the file is now safe to run

Note: If you don't see a Security section in Properties, the file is already unblocked and you can run it directly.

Step 3 — SmartScreen Blue Screen (if it appears)

When running the installer, Windows may show a blue screen saying "Windows protected your PC."

1
Click "More info" (small link below the warning text)
2
A "Run anyway" button will appear — click it
3
Installation will proceed normally
💡 Why do these warnings appear? Windows and Chrome flag any downloaded executable that doesn't have a verified digital signature from a Certificate Authority. This is a blanket policy that applies to all new, unsigned software — not a judgment about this specific file. Our tools contain no adware, no spyware, and no malware. They are simple Windows utilities that do exactly what they say on the label. You can verify this by scanning the downloaded file with any antivirus tool before running it.

Built by Someone Who Works in the Industry

"The best tools come from people who actually do the work they're building for."

Finverita was created by the team behind AlfaAlfa Software Corporation, developers of the SQL Server Comparison Tool trusted by Bosch, Siemens, Thomson Reuters, and hundreds of other organizations.

Our FinTech tools come from 16+ years of hands-on experience in check payment processing software — writing, debugging, and supporting production systems that process millions of check transactions. The tools we publish here are tools we built because we needed them ourselves and found nothing adequate available for free.

All Finverita tools are free, have no adware, and require no registration. We believe useful tools should be available to everyone in the industry.
